Degree Programs
The College of Arts and Sciences offers baccalaureate and masters programs in a wide range of disciplines encompasing the arts, the humanities, the social and behavioral sciences, and the natural and mathematical sciences. The College also offers associate degrees in paralegal studies and science for engineering; preprofessional programs in engineering, forestry, optometry, pharmacy, medical sciences and law; and certificate programs in French, German, Japanese, and Spanish. The College of Arts and Sciences is also principally responsible for the University's general education program through which all Univeristy students are provided the opportunity to develop the skills, the knowledge, and the discernment essential to the full development of each person as an individual and as a member of society.
Through its many disciplines, the College of Arts and Sciences strives to provide all students an excellent education with the most complete and current resources; to provide service to the University and to the community through its academic programs and through the professional development and cultural opportunities sponsored by the college; and to encourage and support research and scholarship in all the disciplines included in the college.

COLLEGE DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
General University degree requirements as set forth in Section Four of the University Catalog as well as specific course requirements set foth in the descriptive curricula must be met by students completing programs administered by the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, individual programs have specific requirements in regard to minimum GPA's within the major, minimum number of hours to be earned at EKU, and other matters. Students should consult with an advisor or department chair to learn the particular requirements of a program or see one of the Academic Specialists in the College Dean's Office.
